I created this card using the Starry Circle MFT die, Crazy Dog and Crazy Cat stamps/dies, distress oxides, and Copic markers.

My youngest son and his wife, Bridgette, recently added a dog to their family. Their cat, Lokie, has been with them for many years. When creating this birthday card for Bridgette, I visualized what Lokie’s thought process might have been in dealing with this new situation. (P.S. I really hit the daughter-in-law jackpot with Bridgette.)

• Tim Holtz Micro Distress Glaze, with Ranger TH Mini Ink Blending Tool/Foam and a piece of a cotton shirt to buff it. (I sealed the distress oxides with this. The blending tool fits perfectly in the distress glaze container. I use this blending tool exclusively for this purpose.)
• Scor-Tape: 1/8”, 1/4″, and 1/2″
• Ranger Multi Medium Matte (I used this as an adhesive for the small pieces of the die cuts.)
• Ranger Craft Scrubbie
• Baby Wipes and Paper Towels

I’ve entered this card in the September Lavinia Stamps Challenge. This month’s theme is ‘Your Favourite Colours.’ I had the intention of using pinks, yellows, and blues, since my favorite colors are those, but sometimes cards just have a direction all their own.

I created this card using a Crazy Dog stamp/die, Crazy Things accessories, Distress Oxides, and Copic markers.

It was inevitable…Crazy Birds and Crazy Cats…it was only a matter of time until I purchased Crazy Dogs, too. This dog is such a cutie!

I applied Antique Linen distress oxide onto a non-stick craft sheet (in three side-by-side strips); spritzed them with water until the water beaded; smooshed the watercolor paper into the distress oxide; and used a heat gun to dry it. I repeated this process with the Cracked Pistachio.

I stamped the dog and accessories with Memento ink onto X-Press It Blending Card; colored them with Copics; and cut them out with their matching dies. Next, the dog and accessories were attached to the distress oxide paper, sequins were added, a sentiment stamped- this was attached to the cardstock base with Scor-Tape.

(The Crazy Dogs stamps in this set, and coordinating dies, are on the larger side. This dog is roughly 3-3/4″ tall x 3″ wide, without his party hat. But, I love this set-it’s substantial.))
