Christmas 2016

My philosophy: You can never have enough sparkle, especially around a holiday!!!

Materials used to make this card:

  • Blue snowflake paper (Joanne’s).
  • Gold Glitter Ribbon.
  • Spellbinders Seasonal Fancy Tree Die, S2-236.
  • Silver and gold sparkle paper for the trees. I found some sparkle page dividers at Walmart-5 sheets for a quarter on clearance. Score! I love when that happens.
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Four. From this set, I used the 2-1/4″ x 3-5/8″ die for the sentiment inside the card.
  • Stampabilities Joy, Love & Peace 02 Rubber Stamp, G1111.
  • Ranger Archival Ink, Jet Black.

Purple Watercolor Flowers

 

Hello Everyone!

Today, I wanted to make a card with a watercolor effect. I put the purple and pistachio gelatos on the rubber stamp; misted it; stamped that directly on the cardstock; and then used a brush to lightly spread the purple color around the flowers. The corners of the card were punched and then distressed. I added a Happy Birthday sentiment at the top to finish the card.

  • Stampabilities Happy Birthday #1 Stamp, 419861-CR
  • Faber-Castell Gelato, Grape (for the flowers)
  • Faber-Castell Gelato, Pistachio (for the plant stalk)
  • Ranger Deep Purple Archival Ink (for the Sentiment)
  • Dusty Concord Distress Ink (to distress the corners)
  • Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page corner punch, Swirling Lace

Additional materials:

  • Darice Rubber Stamping Surface Mat, 11 x 17. I’ve found that I can get really good ink impressions when I use it.
  • StazOn All Purpose Stamp Cleaner.
  • Ranger Rub It-Scrub It Stamp Cleaning Pad. It seems to clean the ink from all the nooks-and-crannies of the stamps.
