I used Distress Oxides, the Tim Holz Mixed Media die, and Lavinia stamps to create this card. I’m going to enter it in the Lavinia Stamps Challenge this month. The August theme is “Blues and Orange Hues.” This has been an extremely dry summer so far. I think that was the motivation for this card…the need for RAIN.
I put a strip of 2-1/2″ and 1″ Scor-Tape behind the Mixed Media die, sticky side facing up. Then I put pieces of Indigo Blu Mega-Flakes on top of that and used a piece of the Ranger Cleaning Pad to press them onto the Scor-Tape. You don’t need very much of the Mega-Flakes to do this. I lightly brushed off the excess flakes and put strips of Scor-Tape on the rest of the card. Then I pulled off the other side of the Scor-Tape (you should see the words SOOKWANG, who is the manufacturer I think); and anchored all of this on the teal cardstock base. The Scor-Tape holds the Mega-Flakes together when you pull off the backing. (I’m proud of myself…I remembered to turn off my fan THIS time when I opened the Mega-Flakes container. They’re so light that a fan blows them ALL over the place. Took me just once to figure that one out. 🙂 )
