Fairy Rose Magical Garden

I created this card using a Sizzix Thinlits die, distress inks, and Lavinia stamps.

I’ve entered this card in this month’s Lavinia Stamps Challenge.

I’m proud of the way the bricks turned out! I used VersaFine Clair-Fallen Leaves to stamp the Secret Door image onto a piece cardstock, then die cut the bricks (the Sizzix die makes a group of bricks as a set). I positioned the die cut around the door; used the die cut as a template; and sponged Dusty Concord distress ink on the outline and on the inside of it. Then I placed the distressed die cut, so that the white cardstock would show through on the bottom of the bricks, and used Ranger Multi Medium Matte as an adhesive to attach it. Each brick was outlined with the Stardust Gelly Roll Pen to add sparkle. I repeated this process on the other side of the card and in the middle to create the rest of the bricks.

I created this card using distress inks, Lavinia stamps, and distress glitter.

I’ve entered this card in the March Lavinia Stamps Challenge. There are so many entries and the winner is chosen randomly, but I’m crossing my fingers!!!

Materials Used:

  • Strathmore Watercolor Paper, Cold Press, 90 lb.
  • Darice Cardstock Base, Jet Black
  • Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber, Squeezed Lemonade, and Peeled Paint. (To add sparkle, I spritzed some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, onto the distress inks on the glass media mat, before I applied them to the card.)
  • Lavinia Stamps: Chasing Dreams-Large, Lunar Buds, Believe in Magic, and Silhouette Castle (S). (Tracey Lavinia Dutton is the artist of the Lavinia stamps.)
  • VersaFine CLAIR: Fantasia (Lunar Buds); Nocturne (Fairy and Sentiment)
  • Ranger Distress Glitter: Broken China, Tumbled Glass (The Lake-I used a paintbrush to apply FlitterGlu to the cardstock and sprinkled the distress glitters on top.)
  • Ranger Embossing Powder, Holographic (Silhouette Castle-I stamped the image; applied FlitterGlu with a paintbrush, and sprinkled the embossing powder on top. The picture doesn’t show how much the castle sparkles.)
