A Fairytale Halloween

I created this card with Lavinia stamps, a gel plate, ColorBox Dye inks, VersaFine Clair inks, and Brusho Crystal Colours.

It might be it little early but HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! I’ve entered this card in the October Lavinia Stamps Challenge.

The Willow the Witch stamp set includes both the witch stamp and a cauldron stamp. My original plan was to have the bats coming out of the cauldron. After I stamped Willow, I looked around my craft desk for the cauldron stamp. I looked ALL over! I couldn’t find it anywhere, so I finished the card without it and entered it in the Challenge. I found the cauldron stamp, the next day in another room, on my kitchen floor. I am SO going to keep track of it from this point on!

I figured out how to apply Twilight VersaFine ink to the area around the circle and not leave smoothie marks. I watched one of Tracey Dutton’s videos and realized what I had been doing wrong. It’s like applying distress inks/oxides with a mini blender…you start off the paper before applying the smoothie to the paper. Once I did that, I didn’t get the smoothie marks and got a softer, smoother look.

The finished size of this card is 7-1/2 x 7-1/2, very large!
