I used the smooshing technique and alcohol inks to create this card.
I made the background, that I used for this card, a few months ago…so I’m a little hazy about the alcohol ink colors I used. I believe they were Red Pepper, Aquamarine, Mermaid, Caramel, and Gold Mixative.
When I created the background, I put a piece of aluminum foil on my work area. I generously applied the alcohol ink in squiggly lines onto the foil in different areas and added four drops from the Gold Mixative bottle. I placed a piece of Yupo Cardstock on top of the inks; gave a twist; and patted it down to spread the inks across the paper.
(Alcohol inks dry very quickly. To make a second generation copy, you could put some blending solution on the inks that have dried on the foil-and repeat the smooshing technique. That copy would most likely not be as dramatic as the first copy.)
I die cut the MFT Turntable, the tone arm, and the three other pieces that were included in the die set. I used the corner of a Hampton Art stamp to ink the pattern on the red portion of the turntable; then attached the die cut pieces to the alcohol ink cardstock with Scor-Tape.
To finish the card, I cut the cardstock into three sections; added a sentiment with Stampabilities alphabet stamps; adhered all to red cardstock; and added a black cardstock base.
